Dear SLS Community and Friends:

Welcome to SLS Preschool. For the last 75 years, SLS has had  a long tradition of providing an exemplary kindergarten readiness program that focuses on each child as an individual, marked by an exciting curriculum and a dedicated faculty. The faculty at SLS are truly among the best; their passion for their craft and their love of children is evident every day. Our curriculum is dynamic; ever growing and evolving to meet the needs of our students.

There is a favorite quote of mine that states, “It’s not a parents responsibility to pave the way for their children but to provide a roadmap.” SLS is that roadmap and parents play an integral role in the partnership between school and home. We look at ourselves as partners on this educational journey. SLS provides a safe space to explore new ideas, gain confidence and be kind, considerate human beings. Our students are at the forefront of any decisions we make.

If you are a current SLS family I look forward to continuing our work together. Preschool years are magical for students but equally so for parents and you will no doubt make many lifelong friends. I encourage you to participate as much as you can in the life of the school.

As I approach my 47th year in education I am still filled with excitement and joy each day I watch our students experiencing the wonder of learning. It is a lifelong journey and it begins now.
